BodyCombatβ„’ launch 73 at Kerrie Fitness – do you want to feel like a bad*^s when you workout? πŸ‘ŠπŸ»

Short answer, yes!! There’s something quite exhilarating you get from participating in a BodyCombatβ„’ class, that is unlike any other workout. You’re throwing punches here and there, kicking this way and that, grunting, making noise, rolling eyes πŸ™„ haha yep, from the burn πŸ‘πŸ» You feel like you could use your body as a weapon if need be. If need be. I clarify that part. You never want to have to… but if you did! One one simple word, you feel like a bad*^s. No one could take you on! πŸ’ͺ🏻

If you’ve ever been to a public toilet on your own.. like hello, yes, all the time.. unless you’re one of those special people that can hold onto their bladder all day (kudos to you.. after kids there’s no way in the world I could!) then you understand, especially talking to all the females out there (males you’d have to let me know, but I’m pretty sure this thought has never crossed your mind!).. you’re constantly looking over your shoulder to make sure no one is going to sneak up on you… but in your mind, you have two thoughts πŸ’ … one is, I’m wearing stilettos πŸ‘  , these heels will work a treat as a weapon… to number two… I know BodyCombatβ„’ πŸ‘ŠπŸ» I got this… just anyone dare attack me, I got skills πŸ’ͺ🏻 Mixed martial arts πŸ₯‹ skills peeps! My body is my weapon! From boxing, to kickboxing, capoeira to muay thai, karate to tai chi. Okay, okay, yes I can read your mind. We fight to the air… yes, we do. But that by no means makes us feel any less bad*^s!!!

It could be a very interesting bathroom room scene.. “please wait there whilst I set my stance”… to the thought in your head, “I might have to take the no jump option in these stilettos”… to, “just wait until I do a few gingas to warm up” Anyone seen the movie πŸŽ₯ “Snatched”? Amy Schumer’s capoeira skills, hilarious πŸ˜‚

Anyhoo, apart from how awesome a BodyCombatβ„’ class makes you feel on the inside, it also delivers on the outside. It’s an all over body workout to shape, tone and get you fitter. Now who doesn’t want to be fitter? There’s always someone in you’re life you’re trying to keep up with.. whether it’s your bestie, your mates, your partner, your kids or just at work. There’s no better feeling than “feeling fit”. I always tell myself, you can never be fit enough! Always strive for more. Cue KHIIT classes. These 30 minute babies take us right out of our comfort zone. Fittest of the fittest πŸ’š

Back to BC73… my body is definitely letting me know today that last nights class delivered! Thank you Les Mills!

So last night, Wednesday, 6 September 2017, Trevor and I launched the brand new Les Mills quarter 3 BodyCombatβ„’ release 73 to our Kerrie Fitness fitfam. Choreography was learnt over Trev’s birthday and Father’s Day. There’s never a pause in life for learning choreography. If only!!

Check out the videos from last nights launch, the very first time for this workout and always the most exciting 😁 Watching the anticipation and reactions on our members faces is priceless 😈

Once you’ve had a squiz, you should come and join us, it doesn’t get any harder than this. Options for everyone. You too can feel like a bad*^s 😜

Track 1A, Uppper Body Warmup 🎢What is Love 🎢

“Love” a brand new start to a brand new release. Mixing things up is what keeps it interesting!

Track 1B, Lower Body Warmup 🎢 Setting Fires 🎢

Still after 14 years of launching these Les Mills new releases I can sometimes have that “fear” moment.. teaching this track was one of those moments… I had my biggest game face on and inside my head I was having a panic attack. Not fun, just 4 minutes into the new launch! 😢 I was questioning I was doing an exercise meant for the next track. Yes, I know! How? Teaching 7 programs at launch time is similar to juggling 7 balls at once!!! So whilst I was telling the class what to do, I had this little voice inside my head saying “f^*%, I think this is the move for the next track of the warm-up, wtf”, another thought “just keep going” another voice “you’re going to forget everything now” then the angel πŸ˜‡ came and told me “stop panicking” “you got this” aaah the joys!! πŸ™ƒ

Track 1C, Integrated Warmup 🎢Shut It Down 🎢

Loved the feel of this track, flowed beautifully!

Track 2. Combat 1  πŸŽΆ Mayday 🎢

Haha the first combo in this track starts with a jab, cross, ascending elbow. In the current mix I had been teaching, and the release 72 before it, this combo was in both of those workouts coupled with a double rear knee. All day I’d been telling myself, it’s a step kick, not a double knee, it’s a step kick, not a double knee. Good thing, the step kick cue came out. Phew πŸ˜…!! Great track too… love the Parry. Cue bad*^s you can’t touch me!!

Track 3. Power Training 1  πŸŽΆWild Horses 🎢

God love Trev.. he has his full time job where he leaves home by 4.30am, gets home in just enough time to shower and change for KF. He found the time over his birthday/fathers day celebrations to learn this track… and did such an amazing job of it. 3 whoops for TJ ❀️❀️❀️ Cool track this one πŸ˜›

Track 4. Combat 🎢 Mama Do The Hump 🎢

Talk about cool 😎 This is one of my faves. A side kick, together with a front kick, on the same leg without tapping in between and then adding propulsion to the exercise. Hello. Super awesome! And the lyrics πŸ˜‚

Track 5. Power Training 2 🎢 Eternal 🎢

WHOOP WHOOP. Seriously, all of my Christmas’ came at once in this track!! Let’s talk push-ups. Then let’s talk a new push-up… the diagonal push-up! Now after 14 years of teaching I’ve always encouraged everyone who trains with me to try push-ups on their toes. Even if it’s only 1, better than none! These push-ups were insane. Options of course to complete them from your knees, or to sit up and rest when ever need be. I cannot tell you how sore my chest, shoulders and lats are today!!! My love for push-ups continue ❀️ But the fun didn’t stop there. When we got up from the floor and previewed the next combo to the class… their reaction was EVERYTHING. Made my night!! Nooo, they all said in unison. Well my friends, it wasn’t a burpee.. it was a modified sprawl.. yes technicality I know. But simply THE BEST!!!!

Track 6. Combat 3  πŸŽΆ Fracture 🎢

Let’s talk capoeira. Brazilian martial art disguised as a dance. This is always a fan fave. A bit of fun with the ginga, but a massive leg and butt burn going on with the lunges. Yessssss. Perfecto πŸ‘ŒπŸ» Another of my fave tracks. Again.. loved everyone’s reaction when the track didn’t finish… bonus squats and kicks at the end. Talk about feeling gooooooood 😁 Needless to say my butt is talking to me today. Whether it’s from this track or my KHIIT class yesterday morning, or my new Kerrie Core class before this launch last night, I’ll never know!!!!

Track 7. Muay Thai  πŸŽΆNew Era 🎢

On paper I thought this Muay Thai track was one of the easier ones.. until of course the continuous knees and running man came into play. Bit just nicely!!

Track 8. Power Training 3  πŸŽΆ Endorphins 🎢

What an extremely appropriate name for this track. Happy endorphins had definitely kicked in. Talk about feeling good. Alas, at the start of the track I realised I was teaching it like track 3, right arm combo, to left arm combo… oopsies πŸ™Š back on track, let’s focus on one side for a block, then the other side for a block πŸ˜‚ Good thing, there were no voices inside my head screaming at me!!! This track felt so good too. Then it came to the last 30 seconds of the track when it was like… nooooooo WE WANT MORE!!!!

Track 9. Conditioning  πŸŽΆ Savage 🎢

Lol, another awesome track name… this workout WAS “savage”!!! Beautiful ending to an awesome workout, laying down!!! Some crunches, some side planks and we be done βœ…

Track 10. Cooldown  πŸŽΆ Human 🎢

Well right now after that epic workout we feel super human! Side mental note, don’t jump up and start teaching the power track from the new BodyAttackβ„’ 98 πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ (same song, different choreography!)

There you have it guys. Second Les Mills Launch complete. Hope I’ve influenced you to come and play with us Wednesday nights 6-7pm and Saturday mornings 9.30am for a couple of combat tracks in 7in70 (7 programs in 70 minutes)

Now to start learning the choreography for the BodyStepβ„’ 109 launch this coming Tuesday, 12 September 2017 6-7pm. Hint hint. Be there!!!

See you soon!

Kerrie πŸ’—

P.S If you read my last blog in relation to the BodyAttackβ„’ launch 98… yes I’m sitting/standing in the corner of my room yet again attempting to upload all the videos πŸ˜‚ I’m being positive with the smiling laughing face emoji. This is the appropriate emoji 😩😀😑😫 No more blogging for me after this 24 hour stint. iPhones πŸ“± are too easy to throw out the window!
